Donjohn was a New York Liberal most of his adult life. He ran as a Republican to be elected prez. Is he still a Liberal who's in the closet?
He toyed with running as an Independent. He may still have a few "liberal" tendencies that show up from time to time. Would his base abandon him for that or would they accept that too as they have accepted everything else about the guy? Why?
Of course he is a liberal - but one who has decided to be guardian of many of the principles which are very dear to conservatives. And because of his liberalism he was probably able to muster the support of some liberals as well as conservatives. Certainly no other Republican candidate even approached his level of popularity.
If he turns: pro choice Appoints liberal judges Pro tax Pro regulations (edited...from revolution...autocorrect changed it) Open borders, Pro gun control Anti Christian Weak on terror Etc
Yes, I would drop my support very quickly.

He switched sides because he knew he could pull the wool over the republicans eyes easier then the democrats. And it worked.

The desperation/despair of Paul Ryan is apparent. He so desperately wants to push through the legislation of his dreams he will put up with the devil to get it done and he is. The "cut cut cut" bill for openers. This year his enemy will be Medicaid/Medicare/Social Security. To gut them as much as possible. He needs a signature for for that signature he puts up with a scumbag prez whom he probably detests privately but will pretend he doesn't. Hahahahahahahahahaha. I doubt that he really used those precise words tom but hey he says a lotta things. If you wait he will say what you want to hear word for word when he gets around to it! The divide between those who think he's grand and those who don't gets wider each day. He finally boxed himself in. His demand of McGahn that Mueller be fired in June 2017 and McGahn refusing and saying he'd quit first seals his fate. He backed down but the intent was obvious. Shutting down an investigation that he knows will absolutely fry his a**! When asked about it at Davos he said it was "fake news". It has been corroborated by 4 different sources INCLUDING FOX NEWS. So when he faces Mueller he is already dead meat. If he admits he did it his goose is cooked. If his lies about it his goose is cooked. Either way. He is dam*ed if he does and dam*ed if he doesn't! He put himself there with no help from anyone. He will twist slowly in the wind before he ends. It will have to be a very heavy chain. He's a very heavy duty guy. He's a REAL liberal. Conservatives and real liberals get on just fine. We don't agree on everything, but there is mutual respect.
Conservatives will disagree with him on a few things, though anyone with half a brain recognises that the right must be united against the establishment. Disagreements between real liberals and conservatives can be revisited after we save western civilisation from all the leftist / corporatist / globalist trash.
In the U.S. the word "liberal" has been stolen. It's just what socialists call themselves because they're too yellow to admit they're red. The cockroaches prefer to scuttle around in the shadows instead of openly declaring themselves. Eventually we'll reclaim that word and call the left what they really are.
