I don't care if the man delivers his speech in pig latin. The relief one feels when we know it's him making the speech and not her is reassuring, comforting and encouraging. And as I've said many times before, I've only watched one of those things in forty years and I don't intend to make an exception this time.
We haven't decided if we will turn it on and mute him, turn it on and listen as long as we can take it or watch something else. There will be eviscerating commentary afterwords and that should be tons of fun to hear. I think being drunk would help but it's not our style. We don't pop "feel-good" pills either. We're pretty old and I'm not sure how wise it would be health-wise to expose ourselves to a known self-centered hyperbolic lying pompous sexually abusive egotistical blowhard. The doofus don is a gift that keeps on giving all late-night comedians who are all pretty uniformly doggone brilliant! So I can hardly wait to see the clips of all their shows with their take on his big night! Thank you for your reply PeaPod and Happy Tuesday! :)

He gets revved up with hearing himself speak. He turns himself on all the time and I would be surprised if he doesn't go off script and blow the whole show. There is nothing remotely humble or circumspect or truthful about him. At some point he will revert to type unless they have him drugged to keep him pliant and quiet. We shall see! Of course it is although I'm pretty sure the words won't be his but will be written for him by others. The key to his success will be reading the author's words exactly. Reading the words that are on the teleprompter exactly. Staying inside the box and not coloring outside the lines. If he blows up and reverts to type he will be excoriated by those just waiting for "the real guy" to show up. I'm just sayin'. Presidents have long had speech writers. That doesn't mean they don't give an outline/gist of what they wish to convey to the speech writers in advance, review/correct the speech prior to giving it, or diverge from it once they are at the podium.
The key to his success or lack thereof will ultimately be in what he does or does not acomplish for America... not in allowing others to control him.

What I want is to turn the channel. I won't be watching any of it. Why bother when the news will cover it 24/7 for the next month. In between all the other coverage about his millions of lies and his impeachment proceedings, his lawsuits, his jail threat, all looming at the same time and don't forget DACA and the wall and the need to get that golfing in there.
Well for us to sit through it without muting it would require us to be drunk or high on drugs neither of which is our style. I don't know how brave we will be until the moment of decision. I know that the afterwards will be a delight with everyone we like excoriating the he** outta him if he goes off script and analyzing the heck outta him if he doesn't.
