Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» My parents/grandparents were immigrants. They're dead and will never know that the country they treasured is dead too. Isn't it?
I have no faith left at all. I'm glad you do m'dear. Maybe it's because I'm too close to the Useful Idiot and you see the entire view and not the one diseased tree up close as I do. We will see eventually what will be. Thanks for the hope. I appreciate it. I want you to tell me later this year "I told you so" just as "I told you so" about Nick shaping up eventually a couple of years ago. OKAY? I will absolutely and honestly and truly look forward to that day. I'd mark it on my calendar but I don't want to spook it or jinx it! :)
And mine were from Scotland, Large Deal. Anybody not descended from Native Americans were immigrants. What's the point? Did your forebears come to assimilate and contribute, or did they come to manipulate the law they were breaking? Did they come to have the benefits without the responsibility? Did they come to commit violent felonies and deal drugs? Did they enter to make dreams come true by industry and ingenuity, or was it a case of make my dream come true at your expense and regret? Once the entire country was a sanctuary for those needing a fresh start and a new beginning, now we think that "sanctuary cities" as a refuge for criminals is the answer. No, the nation isn't dead, but just keep working toward that end and it will be accomplished.
The country is "dead" because we elected someone you don't happen to like? Isn't that rather a simplistic and bitter conclusion? Do you need to get everything you want all the time for you to feel positive about your country? And if you don't then somehow it is the country's fault?
