Disclaimer: this question isn't about PC, politics, racism, religions, sexual orientations etc. It's a question about interhuman relations and the ethical dilemmas that might be experienced.
Will you compromise with your own ethical principles in order to meet/please the expectations of others?!
Will you stay true to who you are, even if it means you're left on your own, and risk being excluded from social circles?!
What are your thoughts and perspectivation that you try to live by, and how do you implement them for yourself to your online behavior, being part of an opinion site?!
Yes indeed :)
Whatever I say on an opinion site such as this reflects truly what I genuinely believe in and uphold. But knowing that there lurk among us mischief mongers who are ready at any opportunity to run you down and get some perverted pleasure of doing this in a public forum, I prefer to ignore certain issues, and stay away from certain conversation threads. I do discuss them, however, privately one-on-one with those whom I trust enough not to betray me.
Thank you. :)
IN GENERAL--meaning things are changing for the worse--I can navigate even the most tightly censored sites without much trouble and still remain true to myself/my opinions. Of course, it helps that I'm neither racist, misogynistic or homophobic. :-)
NOW, if you ask me about Islam or socialism, we're gonna be in for a bumpy ride. Case in point:
I respect and admire most of the Muslims I've ever met...but, to me, Islam is a filthy, thoroughly repulsive ideology. Same goes for socialists and socialism.
As far as I know, it's still acceptable to embrace a person regardless of how afflicted they are by any particularly nasty ideology.
Great question, though!
Like stated in my disclaimer I wasn't really trying to make this a question about ideologies, religion, racism etc. But thank you for sharing your thoughts. They are appreciated. :-)
