If the Constitution packed the right of the people to keep and bear arms, we likely would not be the strong country we are today and possibly not even exist at all.

I agree that the Constitution was in place for the best of reasons. The Constitution needs to be amended. It was great FOR ITS TIME. LIFE HAS CHANGED. We have evolved into a race of people who have no idea that we are all people of the human race.
We are all equal. We are all entitled to live on this earth. We are not entitled to use dangerous weaponry when we are not qualified to know when it is pertinent to take a life.
There needs to be a few more qualifications for the right to bear something that can kill another. We monitor drivers of huge cars that can kill people, we need to monitor people who have guns.
They want the right to bear arms? I want the right to monitor those arm bearers a lot more carefully.
Case in point: The lady next door to me. NEXT DOOR. She had Dementia. She would wake up in the middle of the night and imagine people were breaking into her house. She had a gun.
She called the police every other week. How she managed to keep a gun with the addled state of her mind, is murderously irresponsible.
This whole town has people that have serious mental issues. There is no place for them but their own homes and it's too much trouble to drag anyone to court, much less even having the power to be able to do so. I personally can do nothing so we have armed zombies in Sun City.
That is an example of the police not doing their job. As soon as they seen she was mentally unfit they should have moved to have her gun removed.
Why should another's bad actions effect my rights? People die in cars and pools everyday (more than firearms) should because someone cannot drive, we take YOUR drivers license? Or say I know it is hot in AZ but YOU cannot have a pool because Johnny Dumby did not watch his child properly in the pool? We all have rights until we do something to loose them.
This is true. I would never want to put bears in harms way. Thank you for your rely Sharon and the very cute bear. Reminds of the very long tongue of some very old rocker whose name escapes me! :)
