If the DRAFT ever came back and your kids were eligible would y'all move?

    No.  Of course I have no children and grown stepdaughters.  But that was once reality for all American men and few thought of getting out of their responsibility of serving until the 1960s.  Now it would be women too.  It is possible they will bring it back. If I had children I would expect them to serve but if they had some moral opposition I would not stand in the way of their voicing and acting on that.

    It's a very difficult question. . I hear people, even in the UK, say bring back national service... but. see.. it was never all that.... and in non-war time really all it does is cost the government money to care for them.. and resources.. probably doesn't contribute to better discipline.. there's debate re authoritarian stances and whether people under those regimes make independent, well adjusted people or just sheeple. I worry about the loss of freedom.... and what about the costs of those people who could and should be either in education or working and contributing to the economy.
