What could I affix to a back battery compartment of a small transistor radio where the plastic cover of it fell off?

To keep the batteries from falling out..

  • "Velcro strip." ... find a piece of velcro large enough to cover the hole and
     cut the barbed side to fit around the hole and the soft side to cover the hole.

    I lost the battery cover on my flashlight so I just give it a wrap of electrical tape.

    Yep.  I fix stuff with electrical tape.  Some prefer duct tape but the electrical tape stretches which make it oh so handy!

    Duct Tape works wonders in a situation like this.  It isn't a permanent fix.  It will, however be a great 'quick fix' to get you through the snow, rain, etc. until you can replace the back.

    Scotch tape, wit the tape folded back on itself at the end so you have a convenient handle to pull and free the batteries when they need changing.

    Where I live we have Tap Plastics.
    A store where they sell all kinds of plastic.
    they could cut you a little thin piece that would
    cover the battery compartment.
    a little drop of silicone at each corner
    and you are good to go.
