What is something to which you would reply a' votre' sante? ( I think I made this one up)

SANTE KIMES.  A REAL EVIL LADY.  IN JAIL FOR LIFE  FOR STEALING SOMEONE'S PROPERTY AFTER RENTING IT AND KILLING HER.

JUST NOT SOMEONE YOU WOULD EVER TOAST TO.

  • I would say "à ton santé" when clinking a glass of cabernet-sauvignon with my husband or a close friend while sharing dinner.
We don't do this often but when we do it's a special pleasure.

I wouldn't use "votre" unless addressing two or more friends. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at February 10, 2018 6:30 PM MST

I wasn't either, Pearl. It is a toast when you are drinking like saying to your health.  In French.
