I've always thought the position of first lady was a joke and that the concept shouldn't even exist. The same goes for the "first gentleman" when and if there is one.

Melania Trump is my favourite. Not a leftist, not a corporatist, not a witch, not ugly. What more could you want? This post was edited by Zeitgeist at February 12, 2018 12:23 AM MST

I thought that posting love poems to Trump daily is a real joke.

I gotta go with Lucy Webb Hayes. Lucy was called 'Lemonade Lucy' because she would not serve alcoholic beverages in the White House. I don't drink alcohol either. Also, as a child, I painted the iron fence around her grave.

What an unusual and very interesting choice m'dear! I didn't know anything about her at all and now thanks to you I do. What color did you paint that fence and did you have to get permission from the owner of the graveyard? How does that work anyway? I think I'm gonna ask. Does the city in which the graveyard is located OWN it? If I may be so bold s to ask did you ever imbibe and just give it up or have you never touched the stuff ? Also I think of the comic strip Peanuts and the star of it is Lucy. Then there was Lucille Ball. You have good taste and thank you for the education bh. I appreciate it! :)

    Let's go with NOT first.

    Not Barbra Bush.

    Not Melania Trump.

    Not Pat Nixon.

    Not Lady Byrd.

Not W's wife whatever her forgettable name was.

    I loved Eleanor Roosevelt.

I loved Abigail Adams. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at February 12, 2018 3:50 AM MST

I would have to go with Eleanor Roosevelt as well Sharon. She started out being quiet...almost invisible. But as time went on she began to step out of the shadows and into the limelight and her voice was heard around the world. A magnificent First Lady and we shall probably never see one like her again! Thank you for your reply and Happy Monday!  :)
