    Just keep trying.  Or don't do a thing.

    Either path is noble.

    Neither path is better than the other in the grand scheme. 

    It's a choice.

    What, pray, are you trying to do?  Maybe it's impossible.  As for me, I was going to get a job in my field or die trying.  I was that serious.

    It's not really that interesting.  I knew that getting a good job would mean being in the right place at the right time with the right stuff.  Once I had my degree, I kept up with things in the field, marine biology, and waited for the right time and place.  It just took a lot of patience and good luck.  A friend of a friend first hired me after a five-year wait.
