    Scoundrel in history?   Robin Hood.

    Oh wait, he was maybe just a legend.

    Let me think. 



    At least he took a Stand against Trump.

    I don't admire any of them but I haven't studied any of them extensively.  I have read quite a bit about Alphonse Capone.  Am not sure why the interest; perhaps having met a distant relative.  There was more to the man than just  being Scarface.

    I'm not sure he qualifies, because I read something years ago that suggested he got a "bad rap."...

    But I'll go with Niccolo Machiavelli.

    Why?---not sure, but he sounds interesting:   Italian diplomat, politician, historian, philosopher, humanist, and writer of the Renaissance period.
