    Now, there are rednecks and there are hillbillies.   I think that is more of a hillbilly tale.  Rednecks are too busy deep frying something they just shot up themselves.

    It's all in what you grow up with as "normal". If you live in areas where food is hard to get then I think using whatever is available is preferable to starving to death. If you grow up in that environment it's normal.  I mean people have been known to resort to cannibalism to stay alive. Eating road kill is certainly preferable.
