We might couple that with unwillingness to admit it.

    World's biggest problem?
Lack of Love, Empathy and Compassion.
Much could be said...Greed, Ego, Violence,
lack of this, lack of that, Self importance
like I am greater than you,
more powerful than you, more important than you...
IMHO...a serious lack of awareness of Self.
    many only know Ego
    on the surface of life
    and have not gone deeper
    in their understanding of
    who they are...
         Sooo a blessing of love
    within the oneness of life
    is not being experienced..
and instead we are plagued with chaos..
One should live in an energy field of love
and compassion while being aware of the oneness of life.
We are living in separation and division, instead
of oneness. We build walls instead of bridges.
We build them in our minds
and we build them upon the Earth
    within society
...At most just a simple thing to correct...
    a little conscious tweeking

  • Baba, I agree with you.
But I believe that to be better understood by mainstream people,
it is necessary to explain what "Oneness" really means from the perspective of The Upanishads and esoteric Vedanta.
For most people, the idea that all sentient beings are part of one universal consciousness is almost unheard of.
Even the most mystical of Christians, Kabbalists and Sufis have difficulty with it, for they would deny that an animal could have a soul.
The idea that the conditional world as we know it is an illusion of the ego -- this idea is so foreign and bizarre to most that it can seem mad.

  • Three problems that interact with each other to create one mathematically wicked problem:
    population growth,
    global warming and pollution,
and the capitalist demand for endless economic growth on a planet with finite resources.

  • I'd like to add one more point to your answer, viz.
"I need to destroy you if I'm to survive."
