I'm not sure if this actually answers your question but I don't think there should be any scapegoats. We all, regardless of what me do for a living, need to take responsibility for our own actions. It would make life a lot less confrontational and a whole lot simpler. :)

I totally agree with thee ru but the fact is there is ALWAYS a scapegoat or scapegoats. Some people cannot survive without someone or some group(s) to blame for all their troubles. Scapegoats change according to the time and place and  politics. Mature sensible logical people take responsibility for their actions and never transfer blame to others. Many people are not sensible, are illogical and NEVER are to blame for anything that goes wrong in their lives. A good example is the donjohn American prez. When have you EVER heard him take responsibility for anything that went wrong? He  ALWAYS takes the credit for everything good. He uses multiple scapegoats daily whom he blames for all the ills. The people who blame immigrants or Muslims or Democrats or anyone but themselves are legion. There are bazillions of them and they keep propagating sadly and train their children to scapegoat others. It is a vicious cycle, a never-ending happening. Donjohn is not the only one who does that sadly. Nazis blamed Jews and exterminated 6 million of then. White people blamed blacks and lynched them. Religious people blamed "witches" and burned them at the stake. Southern white slave owners blamed anti-slavery folks and started a war scapegoating the north. It is a very sad and shameful commentary on human beings but that is what they are. Not very good or kind or honorable or honest or fair. Those who always scapegoat are the drags of humanity and a shameful blight/cancer upon the earth. Some people like you never do that. They always take responsibility for what they do/say or neglect to do/say. I wish more humans were humane but wishing never accomplished anything. We are stuck surrounded by whatever people are. They can never be more than are. They can always be less and usually seek that lowest level. Why I don't know.  SIGH. Thank you for your reply ru! :)

I agree, there's always a scapegoat and unfortunately always will be. I guess for some, taking responsibility for their actions is more stress than they can or want to handle. I can understand it to a point because it's sometimes difficult to lose the respect of those you care for. In times past, especially when I was younger, I messed up (blamed others) and lost the respect of people I cared for. It was a hard road to travel but I learned my lesson and didn't repeat that same mistake again. :)
