Away.  I don't have that kind of courage and would just come from survival.

I am not a law enforcement officer. I also do not carry. So I would likely run away unless for some reason I felt I could help or was asked to help.

No, I have thought about it but I don't own and have never even shot a handgun.
Though I did just learn, thanks to your question, that in my state we are no longer required to get a permit to conceal carry.
Iwas looking to confirm of you had to know which firearm you planned to carry to get your permit.
We have always been an open carry state (not in my particular town though) but required a a permit to conceal.

So your hands-on experience with firearms is a shotgun or a rifle for hunting then? That surprises me too. Though I don't know why it should. Thank you for your reply m2c! :)

I might pick up a rock or something to aim it at the shooter.

A rock versus an AR 15 that shatters/tatters/splatters the flesh? I dunno Kg. Maybe you should rethink that! Thank you for your reply and Happy Tuesday! :)

If the guy is busy shooting people he might not notice me.

I don't think anyone can say with certainty what they would do in such a situation.

We usually act before we think and we don't know what that act will be until we are faced with it.

Exactly.  We can speculate, but we never know because the variables that happen in a real life situation do not exist in merely asking the question.

Many people when asked about being a hero say that they just acted before they thought about it. If they were asked before they did what they did, might have said they would never do that.

I know, but naturally, Donald has to be the biggest, smartest, most grandiose, most heroic, stable genius on the planet.  Personally, I just think he belongs in a stable.

I am sure my human instinct would be to run away.

I would too. I'm 80. What the he** could I do  being gunless and slow and not knowing what to do? I suppose I could be a target that would distract the maniac. Other than that? It's debatable. Thank you for your reply PeaPod. Hopefully none of us will ever have that situation. :)
