    Firstly, and I know about poetic licence and all, but the illustration is of an airship, in common aeronautical parlance, a 'dirigible', not a balloon. 
    Secondly, one does not ride in a balloon, so much as under it - in an under-slung basket. 
    Thirdly, song-writers generally have nothing useful to say about aeronautics.
