    De-evolution.
Adam and Eve were as close to perfect as mankind ever was...and were not perfect.

Since God is an unknowable supernatural spirit one could assume  God is the  element of perfection just as much as to consider God is not absolutely perfect. If he was absolutely perfect,  all powerful and all knowing why would he ever let a situation arise where sin and suffering could begin to happen? Any flaws in his creation could only be traced right back to the Creator -to the beginning of his creation.

I think the image of God was created by man who was inspired by stories of the various previous gods anyway.

We are here for one reason only to decide who we will follow God or Satan. Those who follow and worship God will have eternal life with God.
There was a rebellion in Heaven and 1/3 stayed with God, 1/3 did nothing, and 1/3 went with Satan. Rather than destroy 2/3 God is giving us an opportunity to show our faith and loyalty.

Gak! My only natural and basic instincts are to eat and reproduce. If God is the creator I am sure I would  experience some innate sort of God awareness without having to be taught about existence of God-of-the-bible or whatever God was in vogue in the locale where and when I was born.

I have followed science enough to determine there is no need to believe in a God creator to be the cause of our existence. A person can make a good decent life for themselves without necessarily believing in the supernatural forces to help with anything.

Yes you can have a good life here but not eternal life with God. Sounds like you don't want that anyways.....

I expect a natural state of existence after death not a supernatural life-in-heaven existence.
I can agree with Buddha where he said 'consciousness exists in the stone' meaning there is consciousness in non-living matter so after death my existence will be a state of consciousness' -no awareness of time, space or material stuff; like before my life began.
Consciousness is the basis of life.

Nice question.   Too bad the answer, my friend, is only proven if the MIND OF GOD agrees.

You see the conundrum here?  Maybe only in the physical world do the laws of cause and effect hold.  Maybe the answer is so mind-blowing, we wouldn't comprehend it with our finite minds.

    Not yet.

When we die, more is unveiled.   Some see more after death than others.  Some rise to a higher spiritual level and return to the earth to do much good.  Some sink lower than before their last birth and must come back as the dark side of enlightenment.

The Trumps of the corrupt world that we must recognize and effect positive change against.

    (something like that)

Thank you for the compliment. Why would God or any part thereof have to agree? I don't  understand the why of your position. Thank you for your reply Sharon! ;)

The answer to why we’re not perfect like God is simple - because we chose not to be.

According to the Genesis narrative, when God made man He made him (man and woman) perfect and innocent.  Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for them simply to be made in God’s image; no, they wanted to BE God.  Therefore, they disobeyed God (the forbidden fruit).  In doing so, they lost their perfection – their “innocence”.  Racked with guilt, they hid from God (much like a little child covering its eyes and proclaiming, “You can’t see me”).  Genesis chapter 3 tells of the consequences of their actions – as well as the beginning of God’s plan to return man to that perfect state once again (through Jesus).  Even today, mankind still wants to BE God.  Since they can’t be, they try to make God in their image -imperfect.

God is perfect in that He lacks nothing and in Him is nothing lacking (He’s absolute).  Man is imperfect in that he lacks the ability to get himself back to that perfect state he once had.  To this day man (humans) refuses to admit that he’s the one to blame for his predicament (his problems).  Instead, man blames God.  Man even goes as far as denying God’s existence, while still maintaining that his problems are God’s fault.  God desires for us to be perfect.  In fact, He paid every price and jumped every hurdle for us, just so we could be perfect once again.  Yet we refuse Him, choosing rather to relish in our imperfection and misery.
