They really don't belong there.  I like dogs.   I don't know if I want some man dictating to me how I sleep or where my pets sleep.

In my house they do belong there. I  agree with the rest that you said.

Wait, what?  Hold the phone!  I noticed how quickly and quietly you skipped over that one part where I have a man and that other part where he's in my bed!

I have a man. He's in my bed (on occasion).

That's different. You didn't word it that way in your question.

Most people figured that part out all by themselves.

Funny you should ask, I've been wondering about that.  I am hopeful he has a lot of animals and I wonder who will win out sleeping with us.  Probably the dog, my cats will be hiding somewhere.
    What do you think?

I can't see ANY man telling me I have to keep my animals out of my own bed. In my  circumstances I don't see the man winning.  He made the comment to me it's either your dogs or me.  I don't work very well with ultimatums. It's a bit too controlling for me.

What would YOU do if it came down to it? This post was edited by ProblemCh1ld at March 7, 2018 1:10 AM MST

I can understand some people don't like pets in their bed.  I'd be willing to negotiate a "large" fenced enclosure (top included) outside for a kitty wonderland.  A safe place for them to spend time outdoors with a cat door at one end to enter the house.  Like an avery for birds,  only this one for cats.  That would make them happier than sleeping with me at night...i think.  hahahaha
(complete with tree limbs to climb on, a little cat house, an easy to clean cat box area and an awesome play yard designed by the best)

The only thing getting kicked will be the other person.

You betcha!  Besides, my dogs were in my bed for many years before HE came into the picture.

My husband is a huge animal lover, but really appreciates if the pets stay out of the bedroom since he starts sneezing and coughing.  Our pets are plenty pampered, so it's a fair compromise to not have them in the bedroom with us.  We have a great big sectional that they all seem to like to share with us any other time.

That's a GOOD reason.   Everyone is looking out for everyone else and the animals are comfortable and loved.

    Hooray!

Exactly right.  And to be honest, I have worse allergies than he has, but could never imagine a bed without them.  But he's worth it.  If he didn't like animals, he would never be someone in my life.

Either that or at least out of my bed.

I don't want the animals in the bed. My husband agrees so it works.
