Hoping for a miracle to make make it so the state-owned property and bisinesse that got privatized will some day belong to the people who bought them. It just might happen.
IMO... The War was “all about oil”... The bottom line (for our U.S. stay) is because of the black gold (oil), the present reserves in Iraq, and the control of same, to a certain degree.
ISIS would love to control Iraq oil..supposedly billions of barrels of oil is yet to be discovered, making Iraq the largest unexplored market in the world.
A famous economist remarked "War is the health of the state." If a nation can't make war, it is because it is dying. So if you live in a healthy nation, war is as certain as taxes.
The first thing the US congress did after the revolution was to enact a tax exactly like the one that sparked the rebellion. Of course the people refused to pay, and G. W. personally led the army to collect the tax at gunpoint. After a brief rest, the new nation declared war on pirates, who were not actually that much of a problem at the time. We have had continuous war ever since, with only enough peace between them to assign names and dates.
