Are police ever comfortable with talking with someone who has their hands in their pockets?

Well the problem with officers telling the person to remove their hands from their pockets is that they can use that as as opportunity to also take out whatever they have in their pockets, which could well be a switchblade or a pistol or revolve. Kinda defeats the purpose of the officer telling the person to take their hands out of their pockets, right?

And just how do they expect you to feel casual and relaxed as can be if you can’t put your hands in your pockets?

The police just don’t trust anyone who isn’t one of them, do they?

The thing is, if they want to see your hands at all times, then what’s to stop them with being uncomfortable with you crossing your arms or putting your hands on your hips?

Hands on hips or crossed arms are body language they prefer to discourage.
