Most people who claim political affiliation have no idea what their party stands for.
Even the leaders in the Senate and House. Even the Congress. No one knows where to draw the line when beliefs are not acted upon because the LEADER will can your butt if you vote against his wishes.
I guess labels are only as useful as the people who use them are accurate and objective. Objective pols don't exist and neither do objective party members. It's what you think it is and what you say it is which is meaningless mostly. The GOP as it usta be died January 20, 2017. It cannot be resuscitated. It cannot be brought back from the dead. What replaced it was doofylucyism. I miss what used to be. Didn't often agree but there was certain symmetry and honor to it. No longer. A Paul Ryan and a Mitch McConnell are whatever they need to be to survive which is to say they are corrupt and venal and evil and cruel and don't give a sh** about any of it. Nice ain't it?
