    It's not pretending. It's showing respect. When I travel I do things their way out of respect. If I didn't respect them, I wouldn't go there in the first place. Why would you even want to be in Rome unless you respect Rome enough to do as the Romans do? If you feel you're in a place that is incompatible with your values, you should leave. 

    If I emigrated I would embrace the culture I were joining. Any immigrant who believes in the supremacy of their own culture is an invader not an immigrant.
