I APOLOGIZE to all the parents I thought were doing a lousy job. The kids who are maching today prove otherwise! Will you accept my apology?

It is occurring worldwide. Kids everywhere. It has to be due to excellent parenting. It sure as he** isn't due to excellent politicking! :(

    Let's just put it where it matters.  There are kids who have horrid parents in that mix.   That statement also discounts the many great parents that had bad seeds.  The kids and their judgment matter.   Granted, it is very hard to dismiss the fact that good judgment begins at home, but not always.  There are many children who have drunks for parents that turned out exemplary because they did everything the opposite.  That kind of thing factors in as well, and it can make heroes.  But you are right, Rosie.  Mostly it can make criminals out of kids who have no role models to speak of.

    I love good parents.  Good parenting.  But, thank god, it is not the only reason kids are good.  Most kids are inherently good, are attracted to love and positive energy and when they do not get that at home and possess good judgment from "SOMEWHERE", they just may gravitate to justice for its own sake.

    Thank you for your thoughtful reply Sharon and the very sweet graphic. I wonder what comes next? Will the NRA send out thugs to track down all the marchers? They are evil. :(

  • Oh for crying out loud. Come down off your self induced adrenaline rush and stop your pontificating about the state of parenting in America. You're no child psychologist. The only thing that's got you excited is that you see this kids in the street thing as a tool for the universal, across the board, disarming of America. We've already been down this path decades ago, so don't resurrect that old Bob Dylan "Times they are a changin" routine. We've heard the tune played before about changing the world/nation/mankind from those who didn't have enough sense to change their socks. Somebody save us from the young, who have energy and vitality, but no brains, and from the old who have none of the aforementioned.

    I know many great inteligent, compassionate youth. Some have great parents, some not. But, I will not be disrespectful to those youth who are concerned about their future.     Well I've written more than once here and on Answerbag before about the terrible job so many parents are doing. I stand corrected (actually I'm sitting). Every single young person who marched is our hope for a better future. What I worry about now is how the crazies like the NRA will track them down to silence them. The NRA is EVIL. They will not take it "sitting down". Thank you for your reply SA and Happy Sunday! :)

    Happy Sunday Rosie! Seems that some people either think our youth are clueless, thugs or something else negative. I believe those who marched did it for a darn good reason. THEIR future. I'm glad they have taken it upon themselves not to just ignore the problem. xoxo

    Me too SA. I was privileged to watch an 11-year-old youngster address the MARCH FOR OUR LIVES crowd on Saturday. She was eloquent and moving and composed but very passionate. I read that the student leaders who organized it all only allowed people 18 years old and younger to speak. What a great idea that was! These leaders were articulate, eloquent and very sensible. They were the school journalists or in the theater arts programs or on the debate teams. Which explains why every single one of them were worth taking the time to listen to.  I didn't watch every minute but I caught enough of it to be so darn proud of them. Talk is cheap. Adults are cheapskates. They send thoughts and prayers and go out and buy more guns. Dumbheads. Not the kids. They are far from dumb. And they are the future voters who will boot out the bad guys and hopefully there will be good guys/gals for whom they can vote. Time will tell. Thank you for your reply SA and Happy Monday! :)
