It seems to me that the GOOD guys get assassinated a lot more often than the BAD GUY despot dictators. WHY?

Among the noted Americans  who were assassinated

Abraham Lincoln
John fitzegerald Kennedy
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Bobby Kennedy

Yes there are more. It just seems very odd that the evil ones keep on  keeping on doing their evil untouched while the good ones get taken out. There must be a lesson in there somewhere. If anyone can find it please share it. :(

I think there is a dark side to human nature that seemingly wants to cut down anyone that others see as "good".  Heck, you will even see this at the workplace and I never understood it.  Maybe it's jealousy or a nice person just is often a target for someone else's rage?  Good question.

I do think less people get assassinated today because they take much better precautions.  I think Donald Trump would be a target if he was out there in the open and he sure wouldn't be getting gunned down because he was a "good guy".

The sixties were a terrible time for charismatic leaders losing their lives.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply PeaPod and I agree with you. The 60's were a terrible time for that. I think the gunpeople are everywhere and if anyone ever tried to make a hit on the doofygoofylucy prez they'd all start shooting. He is very well protected. Happy Monday m'dear!  :)

I was just thinking this yesterday when I was so mad, AGAIN, that I was thinking about the fact that I am enraged and yet, I am able to contain my rage.  We all know of thousands upon thousands of nutbags in this country who hate TRUMP and have not gone after him.  WHY?  Surely not only GOOD people hate Trump?

Why hasn't anyone taken a shot?

I think he represents all evil.   I think evil people are attracted to him.  Not that everyone who likes Trump is evil.  OF course not.  Stupid?  YES. VERY.  Evil?  NO.  So he attracts the lazy.  Those who have never developed a skill that the educated more than likely have. That skill is to be able to process common sense when it flies in the face of your belief system.  I could be raised by racists.  But I am in the real world so I can see that my parents are nuts and I still can love and respect what they did for me, but I am ashamed of that kind of thinking and would NEVER just buy into that "cuz mah daddy taught me to and I LUV mah daddy."

GOD if I am racist about any group, it is the RED NECK moron faction that Hillary called Deplorables.

There is another faction.  The "educated" Trump lover who while going to a school that is considered worthy of respect, they learned how to be greedier than their parents and show daddy how successful they are by the ART OF THE DEAL.

The mass shooter is what we need here, not a mere serial killer.

I would love to see the whole cabinet taken out with an asault rifle.  Watch them run for the doors, trampling each other and lying as they die about how heroic they are.   No, not really, because I am not a shooter of any gun.  That is why it is imperative to keep guns away from the insanely angry.   Trump is GUNNING for a war both inside and outside the nation.  Trump is SATANIC EGO.

They make me sick and there is a special place in Hell for all of them.

Here's my theory about that Sharon. The  goofydoofylucy prez is a saint to all gun people. Besides his Secret Service protection I am CERTAIN there are zillions of them who always surround him carrying weapons of mass destruction. One shot at him and all he** will break loose with all the gunnuts going into action and taking out everyone but the prez. He has phalanx of sharpshooters hovering around just waiting to start a war. He is safe from snipers I guess. Other things will take him out though. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Thank you for your thoughtful reply and Happy Monday.

  • The people that you named were not really considered to be the "GOOD" guys during the time or environment in which they lived. They had powerful enemies and adversaries on every level. Where there is notoriety or celebrity, there is controversy and contention. Lincoln, to use one of your examples, was excoriated and criticized as no one before or since.(Of course, we've never heard anything like that from you regarding public figures) The original "gorilla", the western hayseed without refinement or manners, crude and disheveled in appearance, lacking formal education, these were the mild epithets. The ironic twist is, that when you wear the mantle of martyrdom, you are elevated to sainthood. Even the man in the street is promoted in death to something above and beyond what he was in life. As we say here, there are no sinners in cemeteries.

Different strokes for different folks. Different subject. Ever meet Seve Ballesteros when you were on duty at Augusta? Saw a movie about his life and I think he some great dude. Thank you for your reply and Happy Monday.

  • Yes, and I have a story about him to share. I was working the clubhouse in '97 I think, when one morning, Seve was on the first tee preparing to start a round. His caddie came running up to me and in broken English began to explain that Seve had left his visor in the locker room and that he wouldn't tee off without it. As you know, these golfers are under contract to a variety of clothing and accessory advertisers and as a result must be seen on camera wearing certain apparel with that company's logos or emblems. I went upstairs and knocked on the locker room door (which is more like a living room than any locker room you could envision) and Arnold Palmer answers. I explained the dilemma and he kindly offered to look for the missing item. When he returned with Seve's visor, I made mention of the fact that the Ballesteros bandwagon was holding up the parade. Palmer laughed and said, Well, we can't let that happen, the show has to go on. You never knew what you'd get involved in or who else might become part of the fun.
