Tho one sure thing and only safe bet is that it's Odd's On that we are all going die one day Rosie...

Nothing else is that predictable I think......:(

I agree with thee. So I guess the only thing we can hold on to is knowing we will all die. Kinda depressing ain't it D? Thank you for your reply and Happy Thursday to thee! :)

It's not depressing at all Rosie....if Doctors and medical advances keep us alive longer and longer we will all just fall to bits on our own..
.iIf they ever find the Gene that stops us ageing we will soon run out of space for people to live ir grow anough food products to sustain us all..
Wars then will be for water and food ...it's far easier and quicker to just take and steal things from others than to grow crops yourself....

You misunderstood my intent. If the only sure thing is death why would that make you happy? Wouldn't you like other things to be as certain? Truth.  Kindness. Caring. Empathy. Generosity. What we have is lies, cruelty, cold-hearted, selfish, greedy. I think that sucks!  :( SIGH. It is what it is.  We just have to learn to live with it. :(

There are more. good than bad things happening globally then bad Rosie, only bad things make the news mostly and they also stick in people's minds far longer....
Bad things kind if secular in to things that just get bigger and bigger as people seek revenge ...
If people treet well, their isn't any revenge to contemplate.....

If people get caught fo tax evasion, every one knows and talks about that person maybe......if you pays yours though always.....Who cares ....no one pats you on the back for being good ...:(

Touche honey! Years ago I asked a question on Answerbag about that sort of. I said wouldn't it be nice if there were a channel that only showed good things?  A good news station. Optimistic, positive, happy things. The consensus from the respondents was that no one would watch it. People are drawn to the salacious/gruesome/awful. They're not so keen on puppies and babies and  flowers and sunsets and rainbows. Give them scandals and tragedies and conspiracies and you OWN them. Also in line with that there was a board game called "Dungeons and Dragons" decades ago and the premise was that to advance you had to kill various evil entities and you would gain whatever powers/skills they had. I asked my son to design a dungeon where you advanced by doing good deeds. No one died.  There were no monstrous entities to overcome so you could move on. He tried but he told me after a couple of days that it just wouldn't work. Of course that was a game of fantasy. Reality  is like that too. The mass murderers become famous.  The do-gooders are rarely mentioned. Thank you for your thoughtful reply and Happy Friday to thee D! :)

Why are gory horror films such a big hit with people of all ages ,both male and female and from all walks of life Rosie.....

The old Frankenstine and Dracula films were never ever that gory or showed people being cut to peices......any films such as Physco and the director cut away and only the screams could be heard....

People enjoy for some reasons watching others suffer pain and extreame violence .
To me it's just so sick unless it depicts the true horrors of war ...

In the First World War ,Battles had to stop so that the bodies of soldiers and horses could be burnt or buried to prevent disease from becoming an out of control epidemic ..

You never ever hear of that or from the army personal that had to clear away the bodies....

15 million horses died during that war and countless other livestock....

There is no money to be made from doing good..
If no one killed or went to war Arms and munitions manafactures could not exist ...

How do poor countries get hold of so many English ,American ,Russian ,Chinese weapons in such vast quantities....more so with the countless thousands of tons of ammunition .

Aren't the suppliers of these weapons more guilty that the ones that fire them.....

One man  with a gun can kill a few people ....One man that supplies them can kill millions ...only the man that pulls the trigger is a killer though...
The other is only a respected business man....

Its just a living. .....Money must always be the God to follow with both eyes closed....

I wish I had an answer for you D. There are even TV channels where you can WATCH an operation being performed in all its gory glory! Why anyone would want to watch I cannot say but at least it is saving a life or helping a person. I never go to movies that are gory/gruesome. In fact my best friend at the time Psycho came out saw it and advised me against seeing it. I caught a few clips once on another show years later and when that chair swiveled around and we saw "mother" well I still remember the shock. But that was tame compared to the ripper movies. A lust for blood. A orgasmic need to torture others vicariously. Why people get off on it is puzzling and I probably wouldn't enjoy knowing why. Funny what you remember isn't it?. As a kid I remember seeing a movie and hearing footsteps coming closer and closer in the fog and only imagining what was coming at you. You never saw it but I had nightmares about it! Mere suggestions or implications freed you to use your imagination. You didn't have to have it shoved in your face. But shows like NCIS or CSI made seeing dead folks mutilated or burned to a crisp OK. I didn't think it was okay but it was normalized because the shows were serious and VERY POPULAR. I still always looked away. Where there is money to be made nothing is too salacious or grim or to be avoided. The more money you can make at doing something the less it matters what it is you do. I'm gonna ask that question and then ask  WHY? Thank you for your thoughtful reply D! :)
