I'm not sure. I have a dear friend who struggles with this idea that his true identity is locked inside... I don't know. I'd like to think there's a way people communicate that is beyond words. I know there are other languages, ones that don't make any sound. There's also other forms of expression, like art, and all that... We may never have a full understanding of one another, but we also don't understand all of our natural attractions... Why do I prefer one painting over another? We're spewing our consciousness simply by existing as long as we are in the presence of others. I could like someone's smell, and even that tells me something about that person. How can we expect others to understand us when we can't fully understand ourselves? The beauty is in the learning each other, and ourselves. It's a constant learning, because people are always changing as they experience every new day.
Nicely stated lovely. I totally agree. I think trying to fair...putting aside what we've been told...being civil or respectful or polite when we encounter one another. That would be a good start. Just because we may disagree about many things, that should not preclude us from talking to one another. But some folks have a "them/us" attitude and they attack "them" automatically because they are not "us". Which makes no sense at all to me. We have to be open and listen. We don't have to agree to be agreeable. Thank you for your thoughtful reply. Maybe your friend has a point. Maybe all of us have locked up inside our true identities. Maybe some of us never find the key to unlock it

. That would be sad.
