Would you prefer they have a firearm?
I would.  But is good for a teacher who is not comfortable with a weapon.

The shooter stands at the door and takes the teacher out. Of what use is a bat?

As I said I prefer the firearm.
There was also a school that had each child bring in a canned food item...not for a food drive but to throw at a shooter.

I had not heard that m2c! This may shock you but I LOVE that idea! I do. Kids love to throw things. It would certainly be unexpected and they could probably take the guy out or at least knock him down and have someone disarm him. I like it. Thank you for your reply! :)

    Not surprising at all.
I don't particularly dislike it better than nothing as is the bat. But it has the kids out in the open rather than trying to take cover....

Wow you would think that they would of at least sprung for full size bats.  It's like when they armed class rooms with a bucket full of river rocks those rocks  weren't the best throwing stones because of their  shapes you would think that they could of gotten good throwing rocks . Cheers

What good is it? The shooter will take the teacher out first thing at a distance. It's silly window dressing. Doesn't solve the problem. Thank you for your reply Nanoose! :)
