Go visit Salisbury Cathedral....it has the worlds tallest wooden oak spire..... Go down the M4 motorway and cross the new Seven Bridge and visit Chepstow Castle .....Head on down the Road to the Forrest or Dean .....its where all the Oak came from to build Sir Francis Drakes Armada ... Just past Coleford in the forest is a place called Symonds Yat.....it's very high up and it has a viewing platform where you can over look the Wye River and see it snake into the distant..... Carry on down that road and there is a quite famous pub where you can have dinner ,it's called the Saracens Head Inn and it's right on the River Wye .... Let me know if you want to know more.....xxx
You can visit Momouth , Ross on Whe ....There is a wire foot bridge that crosses the river Wye ...you have to walk down a long track to find it ...it's on the left side of the road that takes you to Symonds Yat....turn right when cross the river and you can walk to that pub I mentioned...once there you can take a Punt boat across to the pub...
There is a wierd and dangerous thing about America and the Forrest of Dean..... During the Second World War.....America had a huge Army base somewhere in the forrest...... Rather than ship all of their equipment back home after the war endend they threw everything including Willies jeeps Harley Davison motor bikes and munitions down huge old mine workings......
People /Forresters that knew where the Mines were use to try and retrieve the things that were dummped ....some died trying I heard.
