Like being a stone.. according to Buddha 'consciousness exists in the stone'. No awareness of time, space or material stuff -no awareness of feelings of any kind or memory of past life or awareness of other persons because there is only oneness. Just some form or state of consciousness that is all.

Of course I thought of that huge statue of Buddha that everyone is familiar with. I think there is much to be admired about such a forever.  You'd be present but not saddled with human emotions. That reminds me of a movie I saw long ago. About a person who couldn't die and lived countless lifetimes watching his loved ones live and die. It seemed like he was being punished for a terrible wrong he had done because he kept repeating the same cycles of joy and sadness and pain and longing and loss. Thank you for a very thoughtful and creative reply Kg and Happy Monday to thee. I have read that part of Buddhism is detachment to outcomes and acceptance of what is. You go with the flow and don't fight it. I try to imagine myself detached from caring about outcomes but that's as far as I get. :) This post was edited by RosieG at April 23, 2018 2:45 AM MDT
