the fact it grows?

Energy is not a physical unit. It is a philosophical concept and an accounting technique used to analyze mechanical and chemical exchanges. In nuclear physics it is defined as a wavelength of light, in biology it is a synonym for metabolism, and in public utilities they say energy when they mean connectivity. Anybody who uses the word in any other context either does not know what he is talking about, or is peddling something you don't need.

So the energy (wavelength) of red light is just right to knock an electron loose so that chlorophyll can convert CO2 and water into a sugar we call cellulose. Not exactly a "direct conversion of energy into matter", but still a pretty good trick.

And the evolutionists want you to believe this all came about randomly. I tell you what, that's harder to believe than a bearded old man who lives in the sky and does magic tricks.

What is your general term for the various forms of what the rest of us call energy? Are you a scientologist?

Some students would define energy to be "capacity to do work." But they define work to be disordering of energy. So energy is capacity to do disordering of energy. That is called "circular definition".

When the rest of us talk about "energy", what we mean is "you know, whatsis".

Yes turning energy in the form of photons into matter helps a tree to grow. The photons are absorbed by electrons of atoms of the molecules that make up the leaf until enough photons are absorbed into matter  to create a new atom then the atoms will become molecules which are all the building blocks of the tree.

    Something like that...

    Right. Either that or magnets.

Photosynthesis chemically converts CO2, red and blue-violet light and water into sugar and  oxygen in the following equation.
The sugar is then chemically converted to cellulose. It is more complicated than that, but photosynthesis does not directly cause plant growth.

Quite so, The CO2 is a part of the atmosphere, and the water is mostly sucked up from the ground. there is no new matter generated, just the same matter as there was before, with a bit more sunlight energy caught in it.

The miracle is in the DNA which contains the blueprints (genes) for enzymes that enable the cell to synthesize chlorophyll.  The DNA code is quaternary (much like computer code is binary), consisting of four nucleaic acids, Adeninge (A), Tyrosine (T),  Guanine (G) and Cytosine (C).  Modern genes contain hundreds to thousands of these chemicals which must be in the right sequence to code for an enzyme.  The probability of A, T, G, and C falling together in the right sequence in the first simple gene of say, 100 base pairs is one fourth to the 100th power which is one in a trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion.  Most recently, they estimate there are a trillion trillion stars in the universe.  Even in a universe seven billion years old, there hardly seems to be sufficient time and space for the first gene to come together on its own.
