Grandparents, when you found out that your first grandchild was on the way, did you begin to do anything differently than before? ~

A fact is we did..we ended up raising him until he left after 22 years...

Just shopping for baby stuff.

The jokes got even worse. Granddad jokes.

I participated in expenses for the expected one.  I was 2000 miles away from them at that time.  I went out a couple of weeks or so prior to the baby arriving and stayed for three or four weeks.  That way I could help with putting the nursery together as well as take care of the house, cooking, etc. while the new parents took care of their new baby.  Nice memories.   I have never lived close to my daughter since she left home for college.  As fate would have it after I settled in the pacific northwest she returned to our hometown in the southeast so she bought my house and is still there raising my grandchildren where I raised my own.  There is no better place to raise kids....that I know of.
