You did see all the people who scaled the wall that is already at the border, didn't you?  What makes you think that more wall will keep people out?

Proves why need a proper wall...that people cannot scale. And enforcement just like the 50 or so that were arrested who entered the country illegally.

You don't care how much the kind of wall you're talking about will cost do you?  You don't care that that money could be used domestically to fix our roads and care for our infrastructure.  You don't care that there are places where it is impossible for a wall to be built which would allow entrance into the country.  You really don't care about Americans at all, do you?

It will cost less than the illegals cost the USA in five years. In fact, some estimates I have heard are less than they cost us in 1 year...so either way it is a bargain for USA.

    Just looking at numbers....
At the federal, state, and local levels, taxpayers shell out approximately $134.9 billion to cover the costs incurred by the presence of more than 12.5 million illegal aliens, and about 4.2 million citizen children of illegal aliens. That amounts to a tax burden of approximately $8,075 per illegal alien family member and a total of $115,894,597,664. The total cost of illegal immigration to U.S. taxpayers is both staggering and crippling. In 2013, FAIR estimated the total cost to be approximately $113 billion. So, in under four years, the cost has risen nearly $3 billion.....
    https://www.fairus.org/issue/publications-resources/fiscal-burden-illegal-immigration-united-states-taxpayers

Estimates range from as low as $8 billion to as much as $67 billion or more, depending on whom you ask and the number of miles of wall that get built. Based on Trump’s 2017 budget request for $2.6 billion to plan, design and build 75 miles of wall, Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill’s office estimated the per-mile cost would be about $37 million, or nearly $67 billion for the entire 2,000-mile border.

So even if we double the high of $67B or triple it and say $210B , we spend more than that on illegal in just 2 YEARS.....so any way you look at it is a BARGAIN.

So how much is your bridge? This post was edited by my2cents at May 6, 2018 7:26 AM MDT

My bridge will cost about the same as what you project your wall will cost.

Good for you, you don't have to pay for all of it yourself.

But we come out ahead fiscally either way.

We shouldn't have to pay for it at all.  Didn't Trump say Mexico is going to pay for it?  Well, then let them.

I don't care who pays for it the USA or Mexico.  But it would be easy to collect a lot of it. Simply slap a % fee on the US money that is sent back to Mex....just 10% would amount to close to $3B annually.
But as I showed even if the USA pays the entire bill....we are ahead Billions and Billions...so good on us either way.

We both know that overrun costs will skyrocket before a wall is completed.

And at $100B annually....it does not matter what it skyrockets....we got lots and lots of cushion.

Clearly, you have no problem with spending money unnecessarily.  How conservative of you.

As I showed above....even if we triple the highest estimate of $69B for the wall and call it $210B....and over 5 yrs it saves us over $500B...as net SAVINGS of $300B....I will spend $210B to save $300B all day long.   That is very conservative of me...yes it is.

I isn't going to save you that much because even if you don't let any other people into the U.S., the figures are based on those who are already here which means you're going to continue to pay for around 11 million people already here.

We will deport the criminals with or without help from sanctuary cities/states. The rest can pay a fine to become citizens.
And we will have a secure border so no more illegal entries.
If they are already costing $113B....what do you think is going to happen to that cost if we continue to allow illegals to get in? It is not gonna go down...how fiscally conservative of you to not care about the ever increasing cost.

So WHY is da big White House cheese spending so much time on other countries and so little time on  bringing back coal/steel jobs and building a wall? Can you answer me that? Thank you for your reply m2c and Happy Monday to thee! :) This post was edited by RosieG at May 1, 2018 4:08 AM MDT

As if only one thing can be done at a time.....would you rather President Trump pay him off like the rest of our Presidents have done for Lil Rocketman?
