How many times can you read the same book, watch the same movie, hear the same song without getting bored with it?

The dialogue is always the same. The outcome never changes. How exciting can it be to keep relieving sameoldsameold?  The don's rallies all over the country are always the same. He uses the same stock words to say the same stock things and folks react as if it were all brand new. Now do those words hold a special magic to them? They've heard them often before and will hear them often again. What is gained by staying in place and hamster-like running hard? I don't get it. Do you? Keep the folks riled up. Throw them the same bloody red meat repeatedly. To what end?

Books give reading pleasure once, music gives continuously.  Now I might re-read a story that I read 20 years ago, but that is rare.

The best books and movies, meaning my favorites,  I can watch over  and over again with enjoyment and always find something new to enjoy. Also can be they take us on a trip to where we want to go which we want to go on again and again.  A motion picture like A Child's Christmas in Wales, a book like Henry Beston's Northern Farm  - I have seen and read these dozens of times over the years and I want to read them again.  Of course I want to read other things to but when we have something we like so much why then let go of it just for novelty's sake? I rarely re-read a book.  Sometimes, I have bought a book I've already read a long while ago thinking it's a new one.  If it's been long enough, I'll finish reading it anyway, if it's a good one.  There are too many books to enjoy to read the same ones over again.  I almost never watch a movie I've already seen.  Happy Sunday. :)
