Chile-con-carne - perfect meal for a hot day. Agree? What would you do differently?

I am such an unimaginiative cook.... same old same old all the time... I experiment occasionally but the offspring rarely appreciate my efforts... so I guess Chile is on the menu summer and winter for the foreseeable future

    That looks really pleasing and tempting!  I love seeing recipes and love watching cookery programmes by my offspring get suspicious if anything new appears on their plate.
