We had a bank-holiday Monday yesterday, so long weekend. The only downside is that I had to go back to work today, does that happen to you?

Ahh yea I forgot you guys don't have them there... they are called bank holidays as traditionally when the banks shut this meant that most other businesses shut too, meaning people didn't have to go to work. There can be various reasons why the bank declare a day of closure... this one stems I believe from the traditional May Day celebrations, where young girls would dance around a maypole.. 
I've no idea what the bank holiday at the end of May is for tho... no good reason that I can see but I am not complaining :P
