You don't understand how the world works. No country truly has friends. A country is not a person. It's not capable of friendship.
The powers that be act in their own interest. Sometimes different powers have the same interests and alliances form. Though they are only based on shared interests and if those interests change the alliances dissolve.
Most of the nations of the world are run by globalists. The country is not run in the country's interest but for the benefit of large multinational corporations. It's treason.
Trump's desires are irrelevant. He is duty bound to the interests of the U.S.. He desires the U.S. to form profitable alliances I'm sure. Though it takes two to form an alliance. If the globalist scum don't wish to respect nationalism, they don't. It's on them.
