Judging from some of your recent entries to the discussion, you're still struggling with what God said about "Love thine Enemy". and turn the other cheek.So, how do you know what God believes about freedom of expression? I knew that the left was elitist, but I didn't know that they were the official spokespersons for the Almighty.
First, I question that there is a reputable Religious scholar alive anywhere who'd say a mortal mind can possibly have a clue what God thinks or believes. Quite the opposite. I think the diehard theists here would agree.
Second, The Founding Fathers were Deists for the most part, who set about separating Faith and God from governance. Not a good analogy.
Other than a fixation to neurotically invoke his own greatness, Trump’s unhinged rhetoric makes it difficult to discern what he really wants from one day to the next, but it’s clear to all he cannot withstand coherent expressions of opposition to him in open forums. Trump wants to control the narrative, and to an extent he has, but he routinely undermines himself, his office, his message and his cohorts in the attempt. There are, fortunately in my view, still plenty of people who aren’t so vapid as to be fooled by the chicanery.

Therein lies the problem. Those who aren't fooled are powerless and those with power to do something either are vapid vacuous veritable vegetables or so frightened/intimidated/cowed they humiliate themselves with the fervor that only sycophantic toadies can. Congress is worthless until/unless the Dems regain the majority in the House and the Senate. Now come November IF there is indeed a BLUE TSUNAMI and the reprobate arse who is the BOGUS prez is booted THEN impeachment proceedings will begin. If not. If status quo is the way we go then don juan will continue to control everything. He has already DESTROYED the rule of law. He does not respect anything or anyone. He has only contempt/disdain for whatever/whomever gets in his way. His adoring worshippers care not that he is a traitor with evil intentions bent on destroying everything we ever held dear. Here's the shocking part. There are 40-41% of them! I cannot possibly tell you how horrifying that stat is to me. SIGH. Here's to the BLUE WAVE. November seems so very far away. Unless He is liar and I doubt that. He gave us brains and minds and it is up to us to use them. If all flows from Him then the Founding Fathers did what He wanted them to do. Gave us "freedom of speech" which is in the Constitution. If God didn't believe in it why is it there? The first amendment speaks of not abridging free speech, a free press or the gathering of people to peaceably assemble or petition the government for a redress of grievances. That is the very FIRST AMENDMENT. Are you saying God did not inspire that, disapproves of it and doesn't support it? How do you know? But it is a tertiary disagreement between thee and me. The central point I believe we can both support. Free speech is a RIGHT guaranteed us by our Founding Fathers in The Constitution of the United States of America. Don juan Trump despises it and works very hard to sabotage/undermine/stifle it. Unless what is said/written kisses his corpulent a** he will destroy it. Monster man. Old. Obese. Traitor. Vacant mentally, morally, spiritually, emotionally. Doesn't read. Doesn't exercise. Doesn't plan. Doesn't think. Just speaks/acts. Bummer. Our Bad luck! :(
Freedom of expression is a legal concept. It's a matter of LAW.
The NFL's intention to fine players who bring shame and disrepute on the NFL is a matter of POLICY. The players are still free because no one is forcing them to work for the NFL. Employers have always enforced codes of conduct on employees.
There have always been SOCIAL CONSEQUENCES to expression. No one has weaponized those consequences more than the left.
