And what about all that molten rock? It could be poured into molds for building materials, picnic tables and benches, road and bridge component parts etc. Can't they do something with it?
I isn't going to waste. There is a geothermal electric plant nearby the volcano. Hopefully it won't be destroyed. I Island of Iceland gets all of their electricity from geothermal plants.

The question is how to harness it. Geothermal plants draw on the heat from inactive magma chambers, an ACTIVE volcano is hard to pin down. Build anything on that baby and a burp from the hill will blow it to bits.
