WHOA! Exit polls in Ireland show landslide support for liberalizing abortion laws. Nearly 70%. Counting begins today. Will they?

Nearly 70% of exit polls show that voters voted in favor of repealing the 8th amendment to the Irish Constitution. Can you even almost imagine that? A country known to be Catholic doing that? If that is borne out by the actual vote count why the flip? Whassup?

    Did they? I haven't read the news today... I am in favour of it.. I know it's a subject that elicits many strong views but the truth is there are times when it's warranted and when abortion is illegal then illegal abortions are sought, which is dangerous AND many people just travel elsewhere to get them... safer and more manageable to have abortion legal.

    Irish Catholic goes together like peanut butter and jelly. No disrespect intended. i LOVE peanut butter and jelly (I prefer jam actually...i like to have it chunky). So it really shocked me when I read that and they were going to count votes Saturday. Haven't checked yet as to the results. I often wonder how accurate Exit Polls are.     I had to laugh. I despise the very idea of peanut butter and jam together - it's always been a mystery to me how on earth the idea of putting them together came up :P

    Different strokes honey. Apricot Jam and peanut butter (or almond butter) on a really good whole grain organic toast is my idea of heaven! I think combining them is an American thing although I could be wrong. Now in Europe isn't Nutella used liberally? Ever try Nutella and peanut butter? Like Reese's candy. Also there is a chocolate peanut butter ice cream we have here in the States. I think the brand is BREYER'S. If you like chocolate covered peanuts you'd love it. Ever tasted it? Thank you for your reply Addb. Do you like scones or crumpets? I love both! :)

    chocolate and peanut butter I can live with,they seem somehow similar, but peanut butter and jam seems perverse to me :P They seem opposites, which might be why they work but to me I can't get my head round it

    Do you like apricot pies/tarts/jam/fresh fruit Addb? Both Jim and I ADORE apricot and while I do buy other jams from time to time I ALWAYS have a jar of apricot jam in the fridge and a backup jar in the pantry. We might run out of other things but we will NEVER run out of apricot jam! Thank you for your reply Addb. I'm gonna ask about that! :)
