When the good people in church pray for don juan's survival and trimphant reign do they also pray for the destruction of his "enemies"?

Doesn't praying for the destruction of many cancel out praying for the survival of THE ONE? How not?

  • You make it sound like some Old Testament prophet or king praying down destruction on a bunch of Philistines. Those of us living under the new covenant of grace established by Jesus Christ have a tougher assignment. We are instructed to pray for those in authority. It gets even tougher, praying for those who "spitefully" use you. Nobody said it would be a walk in the park. Now, I'm convinced that God has a church and that church is triumphant both now and in the days to come. Why? Because scripture teaches that if God be for us, who can be against us. God has His own means of scattering and confusing those that stand against Him.

Well you don't need to belong to a church to pray.  Nor do you need to be in a church building. The Bible tells us it is all right to petition the Lord with prayer but really the main purpose of prayer is for us to get to know God better.   Because God knows what is in our hearts and minds anyway.  Don't know about others but I know I would feel guilty praying for the "destruction" of anyone God loves.  So when I pray I pray for the well-being of all and that all see the light and find God with their hearts and minds.

I have heard some pray for confusion among the enemies and for them to see their error but not destruction.

If they do then that shows that they are as far from godly and god-fearing as it's possible to get :(

Any supporter of the bogus bonespur don is as far from GODLY as one can be. In my opinion. All of them. Including all the bogus clergy. They are full of it and the "it" is bullsh**! SIGH.  They all think they are the sons and daughters of a God who adores them and supports their support of the demon bogus bonespur prez. How little they know. How sad they are. Blasphemy is their new priority. Support the bogus bonespur prez at all costs. They don't think God will mind that they support a demon seed of pure evil. Go figger!  Thank you for your reply Addb! :) This post was edited by RosieG at May 27, 2018 9:55 AM MDT

"Doesn't praying for the destruction of many cancel out praying for the survival of THE ONE"

The numbers involved are irrelevant. God stands for truth and justice, not the majority.

I don't pray to God to earn brownie points. It's not about me. It's not about whether my brownie points will cancel out if pray the wrong thing. Though I know that praying for the destruction of evil people is no sin.

Those that pray for Trump, as I do regularly, are not just praying for him personally. They are praying for the survival of western civilisation. If he doesn't survive, we're finished. We're probably finished anyway. The situation is beyond critical.

My attitude toward Trump's enemies is something similar to my attitude toward Germans during WW2. Not all are bad people. It's only a small minority that are evil. Some are very good people, but it doesn't matter. They are on the wrong side of history. Good people have been hurt on both sides of every conflict in history. That's sad, but the only alternative is surrender. Those who are on the wrong side will have to suffer what they have to suffer. Duty is ours; consequences are God's.
