"Silence is Golden". Is there anything goldener? Patience? Honesty? Kindness? Generosity? Caring? Why that and not something else?

Silence is allowing and not controlling.

That is golden.  Butting out.  Period.

Gee Sharon for me it's the exact opposite. Getting in the mix. Saying what you think. Not allowing anyone to silence you. Speaking up and making sure you are heard. I think that is definitely way goldener! Different strokes. Thank you for your reply! :)

((hugs)) After all these years the responder to whom you are responding STILL doesn't know I make up my own words. I spell existing words my own way. Otherwise language is boring and stiff and rigid and no fun. Thanks Sharon. This post was edited by RosieG at June 3, 2018 3:43 AM MDT

Where do you do most of your research before you answer or comment?

    goldener

(rare, poetic) comparative form of golden: more golden

Exactly my point. The reason it says (rare, poetic) is that goldener is not a commonly used, acceptable term in English - it is RARELY used, only in POETIC context. It is commonly used and accepted in German, but last time I checked, we use English on this site. FYI, when you look something up, read and consider the definition in its entirety, not just the part that supports whatever point you are trying to make.

I invent my own words. I spell words as I choose. I was an English major so ignorance of the the language is not anything that fits me. After all these years you still don't get that do you? Geez what does it take StuBee for thee to see that I am playful and enjoy language? If it bothers you just ignore me. If you don't want to play fine. But I do. I enjoy it. I don't need your permission or approval to be myself languagewise or any other wise. Just for the record futurely. Now futurely is a word I made up. It means in the future lest you be confused. Too bad. You used to be a jolly lad. Often glad rarely sad now you're mad. Too bad. Happy Thursday there old bean! :)

There's no way to accurately project or to read mood on the Internet. Not mad or sad at all, but I react to incorrect spelling/grammar as if someone is scratching a blackboard. Just calling 'em as I see 'em!

To each his own. Ever read a book where dialect is reflected?  Whatever is your cuppa tea that floats your boat is fine with me. I just ignore you and others like you who get all riled up when a gal writes her own style. If it don't pleez ya well itz jes the way it iz.  Joisy fokes and Brooklyners are dose dese dem guys what talk like Damon Runyon wrote and  Georgia folks "y'all" as in "y'all come ya hear?" all the time. New Englanders PAHK the CAH in the GAHRAJ. Drive ya bonkers do it? Wantcher readin' to be all stiff and prim and proper and CORRECT?  Good luck with that. To the olden days you who used to be fun. Happy Sunday. What happened to that guy anyway? Do you know? This post was edited by RosieG at June 3, 2018 3:51 AM MDT
