Were you ever fooled by a false friend and it took you a long time to realize it?

I have been fooled by lovers and potential lovers - many, many times... A few were a shock but most of the others I did kind of hang back and allow them to prove who they were so to speak - often they prooved unworthy..   Friends less so... I remember being shocked a few times by some of their beliefs... but it wasn't enough for me to end the friendship

Yeah...my boss was screwing my wife. It took her 9 months to fess up.

Everyone must get betrayed it seems.  I've hurt people so I must bear the weight of being hurt myself and learn more compassion.
