I have one and take it with me but rarely have to use it.

    Nope.

I got a nice oilskin "cowboy" hat.

Of course not.  Rain is nature's way of keeping you clean ... for free!

Brits from Britland are allegedly famous for their umbrellas - and of course for the copious amounts of rain we have.   I almost never use an umbrella - I get we a lot as you can imagine! I also never wear a coat... that's just plain silly really, because I get cold a lot - but I am always in too much of a hurry.

No.  I just get wet if I must.  Capris and T-shirts are easy to shed at the front door.

  • I have a raincoat, but sometimes I use an umbrella, especially if I'm going to walking for any significant distance in the rain.

I never use an umbrella because no matter how much I spend on one it consistently breaks.    I swear  that if I purchased "Guinness book of World Record's " most expensive umbrella that one would break too.   Instead I buy raincoats or jackets with hoods on them.  This goes for coats too.

Sure. When else would I use it?
