Not really, I wouldn't support the unlawful invasion of planets any more than countries. Just one example. How can a spiritual belief system that already holds the existence of intelligent life other than our own, such as mine, be changed in the face of proof of such?
Can only speak for me though.
Nope...Not at all. My politics are my opinion of how we should run our society and I have no religous views.
As for others, from a political perspective, I think they may just want to find a way to either conquer or kill it and religously, they'll just make some stuff up so the idea of extraterrestrial intelligent life fit's into their narrative, like dinosaurs on Noah's Ark....Little Dinosaurs
No. My political and religious beliefs are quite compatible with that.
However it would trigger immediate calls for a world government. This absolutely can't be allowed to happen and would have disastrous consequences. I would fight that with every fibre of my being.
So I guess it wouldn't change me, it would just turn up the volume.
GIven that I already assume there is life elsewhere in the Universe (intelligent or otherwise), I don't see how verification would change my viewpoint.
Well, it is teeming alright. Teeming implies an overflowing. I think this planet IS teeming. It's just that this teeming life is teeming with connections to the autonomous nervous system. The system that causes knee-jerk reactions. The intellect is ruled by another system and that system has yet to catch up where developmental intellectual improvments occur. Something is blocking the passage to the Cerebral Cortex and going back down the spinal column or just dying on the way.
Like their ALMIGHTY LEADER
If you are suggesting there is intelligent life elsewhere? It did not make any noticeable visitations anywhere near here. Or they are too smart to let us see or know. I'm sure they took one look and said "see ya".
No.....why would it?
If that would change your political or religious views, your political and religious views really really need to be changed.
No it wouldn't.
Politicians and preachers keep changing my political and religious views though.
When we think we know everything about a subject, we stop learning.
So unlike some of the egotistical people of the world, I look at everything as if I know nothing, each time I see it,
I can guarantee that unless you are a Rainman, you can read a book, the same book, every year for the rest of your life and learn something new each time.
