Have you ever been relieved that your partner dumped you for another person as you kept dithering about taking that initiative yourself?

Someone once dumped me unexpectedly after a fifth date. At the time I was very disappointed but thinking about it in the weeks that followed it was for the best. I felt we were very compatible emotionally, but on the level of physical attraction I could have done a lot better. She was very overweight, I knew she wasn't going to lose weight just to please me, and even if it didnt bother me much when we were dating I think it would have started to bother me with time. So she did me a favour really.
