Would you agree that it is getting beyond a joke when a university has to apologise for sending an email containing

"One cannot permit unique opportunities to slip by for the sake of trifles." in an motivation email to staff and students?

    Universities are a bad joke any way you look at them.

    My chemical engineering professor thought it was good advice when he told the class "You shouldn't expect much from your teachers because we didn't get our jobs by being good teachers."

    Well at least the guy was honest, which is a lot more than can be said for many cops, plumbers or cab drivers but it hardly answers the question re. the university having to apologise.
