    Because the opinions are based on beliefs and the opinions tend to cause actions by the people who have them.

    And you will find people who think that because America is a free country they can drive on  whichever side of the road they want to

    This is called discussion. Why not go back and forth, instead of cowering from honest discourse? Disagreement still has it’s merits. 
    We can often learn from more those we don’t agree with than from sycophants just telling us what we want to hear, and certainly more than from no discussion at all.
