It would really be great if a sane and effective immigration law were implemented, instead of locking children in cages, then pretending that it wasn’t the policy he was publicly endorsing days earlier that put them there in the first place.

There's no discernible evidence that the Obama administration ever did such a thing. On the contrary, the recent uproar in Congress is because Trump's goons did PRECISELY THAT.
Every news service in the WORLD covered it, including all of the ones in Australia (with the possible exception of FOX, which I wouldn't see anyway as I don't have cable. I have a moral objection to paying a Murdoch organisation for anything, and Rupert has a stranglehold monopoly on cable down here). Brtain's BBC displayed tge current administration's brutality in lurid detail, including a group of 5-year-old children being told off for making a noise, and a teenage girl caring for a toddler in diapers. All in a chain link cage.
Shame on Fake News for keeping Democrats hating america, hating the family, hating the constitution. There needs to be some common goal of greatness we achieve for our Country.
Dems don't hate America, they hate what Trump is doing to America's reputation at home and abroad. Locking children in cages, after separating them from their parents. Treating immigrants the way Hitler treated Germany's Jewish population in the mid-30s - the gas chambers came later. Scapegoatism is the favourite tool of the despot. Putting kids in concentration camps differs not one whit from what the SA brownshirts did in Nazi Germany. Decrying separation of families isn't "hating the family", quite the opposite. Trump hates those families and his behaviour proves it. Trump has open contempt for the Constitution, his EOs have been overturned as being unconstitutional more than once. His view of "greatness", ie the rich getting richer and the poor can go to Hell, isn't one a caring individual can share.

What everyone (including Melania) saw of the children behind those fences was not conjecture. What I said was it was a policy Trump was endorsing only a day or two before he did a complete 180 and signed an order to undo the practice.
Disagreement with a man who lies every day, sows devisiveness, surrounds himself with lackeys, incompetents and criminals, isn’t hating America, it’s weighing the evidence and rendering an informed opinion.

As one who spent nine yrs in uniform serving America, what I see in the WH is a disgrace. What I read of your view is part of the problem, the partisanship, not a step toward a presentable solution.

These along with any other pict you have seen of immigrant children in cages are from under Obama. https://www.businessinsider.com/migrant-children-in-cages-2014-photos-explained-2018-5
It would have been front page news in 2014 had it happened then, Uncle Rupert wouldn't have been able to help himself putting the boot into Obama. It wasn't, because it didn't. Axel Springer SE and Bezos are in bed with the Trump régime, I would trust anything they print any more than I would trust Murdoch.

So you are calling fake news? Lol. (Did you just claim that Jeff Bezos is in bed with Trump? That is even funnier. ROFL) The right was screaming about the fact that Obama was refusing to deport them.
I'm calling fake news THIS time because the Murdoch press said NOTHING about it four years ago. Not a whisper. Had it happened, he'd have been screaming it from the rooftops.
