Puccini's Turandot is certainly among the greatest.  Who can even listen to this without feeling moved?

It's probably not the best but it's my favorite of those I've heard ~

    Mozart's "The Magic Flute"

Here's a scene from director Ingmar Bergman's marvelous film version of the opera. Unfortunately, the visual and audio don't quite sync up when I watch and listen here.

Woops- - a differetn opera is after this Magic Flute scene -- oh ,well -- I give up

Richard Strauss' "Salome" is great, too, to me!

People have different opinions about which one is the best. These are on the list:
    1. "Don Giovanni" by Mizart.
    2. "The Magic Flute", by Mozart.
    3. "Aida", by Verdi.
    4. "Carmen", by Bizet.
    5. "La Boheme", by Pucchini.
    6. "Turandot", by Pucchini.
    7. "Tosca", by Pucchini.
    8. "Tristan und Isolde".
    9. "Rigoletto", by Verdi.
    10. "Wozzeck", by Berg.
