    That reminds me. When switching power supplies were new some guy at work showed me his design plan for a swiching power supply that would generate more electricity than it used. I think he foregot about the input voltage having to be higher

    Not so much the Volts as the Watts input - but no matter: did your colleague ever realise he did not have the authority to change the most basic Law of the Universe?
